1987 |
Beth Errection &
Killian K. Korpz meet in Madison, Wisconsin. |
1988 |
Anus Oatmeal &
Lord Bryon move to Madison. |
1989 |
Anus, KK & Beth
form Dethkorpz and record the material that would
eventually become the album "Evil
Sex Wizard" in basements
and dorm rooms. |
1990 |
Lord Bryon begins to
write lyrics and record with Dethkorpz; T.C.
Bohrhemian brings his drum kit down to the
basement and "Blood Whips &
Vomit"
is recorded; "BWV" and "ESW"
are simultaneously released on DIY cassettes. |
1991 |
Dethkorpz hooks up
with new drummer Menardo and records the opus
"Metal Tit", again
released as a DIY cassette; KK & Anus form
abortive side project with Lord Bryon, at one
point to be called "HUXTER" -- a few
songs are recorded which are eventually released
on "The Beast of Lord
Bryon"
CD ten years later. |
1992 |
Lord Bryon announces
he is quitting the band just as they are about to
embark on the "Virgin Eliminator Tour";
band attempts to soldier on with Argentine
vocalist Rico Suave, but he only knows Ozzy
covers and can't even remember the words;
Dethkorpz gives up and returns home to begin
recording an abortive 4th album to be entitled
"Blue Steel" -- two
unfinished tracks are recorded ("Deth
Riders" and "Accelerator /
Blue Steel") before the band calls it
quits. |
1993 - 1994 |
The members of
Dethkorpz leave Madison; no activity. |
1995 |
Lord Bryon records
some demos in Ann Arbor, Michigan with Anus
Oatmeal, including his first new composition in 4
years "Gloryhole" (eventually
released on the "Lord Bryon" CD); later
that year, KK and Anus form a new synth-based
group "Atomic Jones" in Chicago. |
1996 |
"Atomic
Jones" breaks up; Lord Bryon records two
more brand new songs with Anus: "Weirton"
and "Lesbian Vampire." |
1997 |
Beth
Errection also moves to Chicago and begins
rehearsing with KK & Anus; they start writing
new material; Lord Bryon comes to visit and all
the members of Dethkorpz are in the same room for
the first time in five years . |
1998 |
The
reserected Dethkorpz begin to work in earnest on
a comeback album, the ambitious "Dethkorpz
IV: The Reserection"; Lord Bryon
writes two new songs for the project, and three
previously unrecorded Lord Bryon gems are
unearthed; another new Lord Bryon song, "Butt
Slut" (not to be confused with "Slut")
is recorded by Dethkorpz using synthesizers and
drum machines(!) |
1999 |
On Halloween, the
69-minute long CD "Dethkorpz
IV: The Reserection" is unleashed;
Dethkorpz play gigs in the Chicago area (without
Lord Bryon); work begins on the next album, yet
another concept album this time warning about the
turn of the millenium (however recording falls
behind schedule and it isn't completed until late
2000.) |
2000 |
The fifth
Dethkorpz album "Apocalypse
1999 6661" is released
-- a baffling concept album about time running
backwards, symbolized in part by the fact that
every song title is a palindrome -- Lord Bryon
contributes two new songs; a third new Lord Bryon
song "Dominique Buttfuque" is
recorded for the long-planned Lord Bryon
"Solo Album"; "Blood
Whips & Vomit" (1990) and a
remixed "Metal Tit" (1991) are
reissued on CD; the expanded "Metal
Tit" includes studio outtakes and a rare
guest vocal by the late Orson Welles; Dethkorpz
performs at a wedding in Wisconsin. |
2001 |
"The
Beast of Lord Bryon" is finally
released, collecting ten years' worth of
previously unissued Lord Bryon recordings; the
debut album "Evil Sex Wizard" (1989) is
also reissued on CD; however no performances or
new recordings are made during the year. |
2002 |
The events
of September 11 inspire Dethkorpz to return to
the studio, resulting in the sixth album "Muffalo" (the first
Dethkorpz album since 1989 not to feature Lord
Bryon); new part-time drummer Witch Killer joins
the band on stage and in the studio; Dethkorpz
then shocks the metal world by announcing after a
sold-out concert in Chicago that they are going
on indefinite hiatus. |
